I assume the label peeled from the heat in the car. There's no easy way to get out a stucked CD in the slot. There are more electro-mechanical parts to go bad. Tray. Slot loads seem to have difficulty with some sorts of media, especially DualDisc and damaged media. Also if the drive breaks it would likely be much more difficult to get your media out of a slot load drive intact compared to a tray manually. Slot-loading vs tray-loading vs top-loading drives ... I prefer tray-loading drives because they offer the least friction on the optical media AFAIK. Also, I feel like A LOT more can go wrong with a slot-loading drive, even though my experience with tray-loading drives are usually 5+ years and the rubber band dries up which makes it difficult to eject the tray.
